We recognize the importance of video content in creating effective courses by our creators. With this in mind, we recommend that our creators utilize a few well-known platforms for working with video content such as YouTube, Loom, or Vimeo.

YouTube is the most popular video-sharing platform in the world and offers a simple and intuitive interface for creators to integrate videos into their lessons. Its Livestream feature and customization options make it an ideal platform for creating engaging and dynamic video content for courses. By leveraging YouTube's functionality and features, creators can build effective video content that will help their followers achieve their goals.

Let's add a YouTube video to the lesson step by step:

1. Change video privacy settings

  • Sign in to YouTube Studio.
  • From the left menu, select Content.
  • Point to the video you'd like to update. To see your live uploads, select the Live tab.
  • Click the down arrow under "Visibility" and choose Unlisted.
  • Save.

Full instructions can be found here.

It is important to use the Unlisted setting. This will allow you to provide access to the content exactly where you distribute it.  At the same time, it will not be freely available on YouTube. The Private setting will not allow anyone to view this content except you and those you have manually granted access to, and the Public setting will allow anyone to use the content anywhere.

2. Copy the link to video you've selected.

Select "Options" next to the desired video and click "Get shareable link". The link will be saved.

3. Choose the Lesson you need or create a new one.

4. Click Player icon on the Toolbar.

5. Insert the URL into the field that appears.

6. You can preview your video once the link is inserted.
